Twitter and Flattr partnership announced
13 May 2011

People with an interest in online payment solutions may be interested in a new strategy by Twitter and Flattr.

The well-known social networking portal has teamed up with the Swedish micro-transactions and social donations specialist, gigaom.com reported.

As a result of the deal, Flattr has revealed plans to enhance its offerings to users by introducing a system that allows people to send money via their Twitter identity.

Currently, the system allows members to click on Flattr buttons across different websites so that they can share out cash they paid in among these portals.

However, with the new plans, users will soon be able store a pending flattr – the name of Flattr's payment – to anyone on Twitter.

Meanwhile in other internet news, Vodafone Ireland has revealed a new website which allows people who use the Cherry Points loyalty scheme to swap their racked up points for attractive goodies.
