26 Oct 2009

It has been suggested that world is quickly moving towards a cashless society.

According to Jack Price, the new board member at technology-enabled solutions provider USA Technologies, wireless non-cash transactions are becoming more and more commonplace.

Mr Price was making a statement as he joined the company's board and he also indicated that he is looking forward to helping USA Technologies achieve its goals in what he described as "a fast-growing market".

Prior to the appointment at his new firm, Mr Price was President and Chief Executive Officer of NovaRay Medical from 2007. Before that he held the same positions at VSM MedTech between 2003 and 2006.

In the UK, eCash network sQuidcard is playing its part in developing a cashless society.

The company's ITSO-enabled contactless smart cards are being used by Bolton Council - the local authority allows residents to pay for bus travel, council services and other retail items with the cards.
